STEWART LEE Collaborates with Glasgow's Legendary PRIMEVALS for 'The Man Wulf' Stand-Up Tour + Single Release "I Am The Man Wulf"
Beloved UK comedian Stewart Lee has commissioned Glasgow's garage punk veterans, The Primevals, to create a haunting theme song for his new touring stand-up show, 'Stewart Lee Vs The Man Wulf', which is currently on an extensive UK tour.
Formed in 1983, The Primevals draw inspiration from a diverse array of musical influences including the MC5, The Stooges, Captain Beefheart, Pharoah Sanders, The Gun Club, The Cramps, and 1960s American garage rock. Like a fine single malt, they've only improved with age, maintaining their status as a brilliantly resilient live act. Their new 45 rpm 7" single features "I'm The Man-Wulf" on the A-side, with an edited long version on the flip.
The Primevals transcend the typical garage rock band label. While they certainly deliver powerful performances, their music is imbued with a sophisticated understanding of various genres, including funk, soul, free jazz, and an undeniable groove.
STEWART LEE vs THE MAN-WULF - is touring over 50 UK town and cites throughout 2025 including SOUTH BANK CENTRE’S ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL in July 2025. See schedule here.
