Newcastle Noise Wave Outfit Spins Terse Tales of Greed, Fear, and Humiliation on Their Debut Album

No Teeth, the enigmatic band celebrated for their electrifying blend of influences from Captain Beefheart to The Cramps, have unleashed their latest album, "Decadence in Breeding," to critical acclaim. Since its release on June 21, 2024, the album has been hailed as one of the most compelling and innovative records of the year.

“It’s all about hedonism and debauchery; the stories we tell focus on a more perverse side of life. It’s all based in caricature—there’s nothing autobiographical about it. You almost feel guilty for relating to the characters in it! We have a fascination with…everything terrible,” says the group.

With each song within "Decadence in Breeding" described as embracing “a thematic exploration of depravity,” the album shares characters “of nefarious descent, delving into subjects like gambling, sexual deviance, murder, and gluttony.” It serves as a storybook of twisted tales wrapped in unhinged sound and is quite glorious as it takes ears and the imagination on a manic ride.

"Decadence in Breeding" is a hyper-melodic garage rock behemoth, doffing its cap to iconic oddballs like Cardiacs and The Country Teasers, while very much maintaining its own strong sense of identity. Terse tales of greed, fear, and humiliation rattle through the record’s thirteen songs, making for a listening experience that is both captivating and unsettling.

"The debut album from this Newcastle outfit mangles discord with melody in a way that defies categorization. "Mixing orchestral brass instruments, rock and roll guitars, bass, and drums, quirky synths, art house vocals, and an immense amount of chaos, No Teeth is here to confound you. The Newcastle UK band play music like no one else, and either you’re going to 'get it' or you won’t. There is no in-between." - Jersey Beat

"Light the touch paper and stand back they say when using fireworks and the same applies to Decadence In Breeding, the debut album from UK garage noise rockers NO TEETH. In saying that though, we suggest once lighting its blue strip just stay as close as possible with the volume at full tilt for an adventure like few others." - Ringmaster Review
