BETA VOIDS Release Debut EP Scrape It Off on Hovercraft Records
Beta Voids have unleashed their ferocious debut EP Scrape It Off via Hovercraft Records, a six-song blast of caffeine-fueled punk that slams early LA hardcore, no-wave sax chaos, and pure coastal basement menace into one gloriously unhinged package.

Fronted by the twin-vocal assault of Mandy Grant and Carrie Beveridge (channeling Poly Styrene and Penelope Houston at maximum voltage), Beta Voids rip through Redd Kross-style riffs, Contortions paranoia, Black Flag fury, and James Chance-level sax violence. Recorded raw and loud by bassist Mike Vasquez at Sweatbox Northwest, the EP captures Dan McClure’s jagged guitar, Seth Howard’s (and Mickey Calavera’s) relentless drums, and Alpha Rasmussen’s feral saxophone in full flight.

Standouts include the two-minute panic attack “Baby’s In Detox,” the Iggy-meets-Subhumans stomp of “M-O-T-H-E-R,” and the Angry Samoans/Minutemen twitch of “Brain Malfunction.” This is punk with dirt under its nails — grainy, sweaty, and proudly imperfect.

Currently tearing through Mexico on a reckless, sweat-soaked tour, Beta Voids prove the scene never died — it just moved to a damp basement on the Oregon coast and turned the volume up louder. Scrape It Off dropped November 19 on Hovercraft Records.
